ABOUT

Qingliang Mountain used to be called Stone Mountain for its exposed rocks that were immediately distinctive from its surrounding. The emperor of Nan TANG built the summer palace De Qing Tang, while that of Bei SONG constructed Qingliang Guanghui Temple. As a result, Qingliang Mountain got its name.

Despite that it has been favored for the longest time as a cooling place from summer's sun, it was considered as a key defense point due to the proximity to the ancient Yangtze River since Dong WU. Yet the changes of geography and dynasty founded this place  with a different sets of purpose-- the purpose of leisure, cultural commemoration, education, Buddhism temple, etc. Today many residents come in all seasons for fun, leisure, and buddhism ritual performance.
